Bonus - The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

It's all about Nicolas Cage in this bonus episode of Popcorn Podcast. Starring Nicolas Cage as Nick Cage, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent takes Leigh and Tim on a wild ride like no other! THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT MOVIE REVIEW

Tim: First off, imagine writing a script about a fictitious Nicolas Cage, based on your interpretation of him that’s based on popular culture, and then asking Nicolas Cage to play himself in said movie. What a risk that was!

Leigh: It's a ballsy move.

Tim: Huge, ballsy move!

Leigh: And I believe he turned it down a couple of times because he was worried it was just going to be a parody, like it was just going to make fun of him. But there's real love for the actor behind The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

Tim: Oh, yeah.

Leigh: You can feel it coming through. And it not only stars Nicolas Cage, but it's full of Nicolas Cage. It’s full of great shots and references to his movies, lots of little easter eggs to Leaving Las Vegas and Face/Off and Raising Arizona. It even opens with a scene from Con Air. Perfection.

Tim: Perfection. I mean, you can't get more Nic Cage than that. A film about a fictionalised Nic Cage opens with one of his most iconic films in Con Air. It sets up the jeopardy there, too. It throws in all the kidnapping and murder in that opening scene. You're instantly like, what are we in for in this movie? It hooks you in straight away.

Leigh: It really does.
