Leigh Livingstone
Host/Producer/Editor

Leigh is an entertainment journalist who has spent a decade professionally writing about film for outlets, including Foxtel magazine, WHO, The Latch and more, but a lifetime loving everything about the industry – from what’s happening onscreen to the ingenuity behind the scenes. During her career, she has interviewed the world’s most beloved actors and talented creatives, and never tires of talking to people who love movies as much as she does.

Growing up as a dedicated cinephile, Leigh saw The Lord of the Rings a whopping 13 times during its 2002 theatrical run and still places it at the top of her list as one of the most inspiring features ever made for its sheer scale, passion and innovative filmmaking.

“Storytelling has the power to change lives and bring people together, and that’s what motivated me to start Popcorn Podcast,” Leigh says. “There’s something special and energising about the shared enthusiasm of discussing a movie with others.”

After working together many years prior, Leigh knew Tim’s astounding film knowledge and passion for movies made him the perfect sparring partner to join her as co-host – and the rest, as they say, is history!

Popcorn Podcast is about celebrating what movies have to offer and, as a fan of all genres, you’d be hard-pressed to find one Leigh hasn’t enjoyed some aspect of. In fact, she’s only ever walked out of a movie once (can you guess which one?).

Tim Iffland
Host/Audio Engineer

Tim is what you’d call “movie mad”. From his first cinema experience sitting in the front row watching The Lion King to The Lord of the Rings – which opened his eyes to the power of movie magic – films have been an integral part of his childhood, adolescence and now adulthood.

Tim loves exploring all film genres and is unafraid to give his honest, unfiltered opinion. So when the opportunity to partner with Leigh on a movie podcast came about, he jumped at the chance!

Known for his encyclopaedic knowledge of film, Tim recalls his dad saying: “Imagine if you knew your schoolwork as well as you know movies, Tim!”

“There is no greater joy than the smell of popcorn and a shared cinema experience,” says Tim. “All the laughs, cries and screams of an audience is what I long for. Cinema carries so much power in telling stories and making us all feel something.”

Leigh and Tim would like to thank you, Popcorn Podcast’s avid listeners, for your continued support and hope that you enjoy every episode.

Tessa D’Alfonso
Podcast Co-ordinator

Tessa is a film fanatic. Not a day goes by where she doesn’t quote her favourite lines or make a movie reference that flies over people’s heads. She can’t resist pointing out where you know that actor from and reading into a scene to uncover the hidden meaning. Her knowledge of Grease, her favourite film, is extensive, to say the least.

Getting lost in the worlds of different characters is what this film fan loves the most. “Cinema is a means of escape,” Tessa says. “Nothing beats that moment when the lights dim in the theatre.”

Tessa’s role as podcast co-ordinator for Popcorn Podcast unites her passions for film, writing, editing and content creation. “I am honoured to work behind the scenes of Popcorn Podcast, helping to bring Leigh and Tim’s love of movies and their expertise to an engaged audience,” she says.

For Tessa, film is the word!
