GODZILLA VS KONG MOVIE REVIEW

Leigh: Let's talk about the special effects. They're huge, impressive. You have to see Godzilla vs Kong on the big screen, if you can. Epic is the word that keeps coming to mind. These battle scenes, it's like watching… I wrote down an MMA match, where they are just constantly going at it, you know?

Tim: Yeah, the special effects are a triumph and I think the complex fight scenes are to be commended. Although at times, I don't know if you felt them to be a bit disorientating just because there was so much going on? Things were flying everywhere. Literally, they were throwing each other into buildings. It was quite extraordinary. But—

Leigh: Do you know what always makes me laugh in these films? Sorry to interrupt.

Tim: That’s fine.

Leigh: The human headcount is always huge in this, but it's never acknowledged. It's just like: ‘Oh, Godzilla threw King Kong into a building, now all those people are dead’.

Tim: Absolute catastrophe. There would have been a lot of gravestones off the back of this film. But yeah, they never really acknowledge the impact. They always end up like, ‘Oh, don't worry, I'm evacuating the city.’ They're already there! You're a little bit late. You've known that they're heading towards Tokyo to have this big battle, and you're like, ‘We've just started the evacuation’ and millions of people are already dead. I think that's ridiculous.
