PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN MOVIE REVIEW

Leigh: This movie stars Carey Mulligan in a career-defining role, as well as Laverne Cox, Alison Brie, Connie Britton, Bo Burnham, Chris Lowell, Jennifer Coolidge… It's a who's-who in this movie, and they're all so good.

Tim: They are. They all bring a unique perspective and purpose to Promising Young Woman and to Emerald Fennell’s incredibly complex, compelling, confronting script and story.

Leigh: Let's jump into the story, shall we?

Tim: It's hard to define this film. I've been thinking about it so much. I have not been able to stop thinking about it, actually; it's incredibly thought-provoking and really confronting.

Leigh: That's exactly why I loved this film because it makes you think. And I've said this a number of times on the podcast, that a film that can entertain you while also making you think deeper about big concepts is a winner in my book – and this one is obviously really illuminating as to the lengths that some men will go to, to take advantage of women.
