Olivia Wilde on the risk she took with The Invite
Acclaimed actress and director Olivia Wilde is our guest on Popcorn Podcast. Earlier this year, she starred in and directed The Invite, a huge indie hit that is expected to light up awards season. The Invite is a dinner party that goes sideways with Seth Rogen, Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton rounding out the cast. In our chat, Olivia talks about why the tonal shift from chatty comedy to quiet drama paid off with audiences, and what it says about our appetite for bold, risky independent films. She also gets into how all that rehearsal turned four incredible actors into co-authors in what is celebrated as a truly collaborative piece of filmmaking.
