THE CROODS: A NEW AGE MOVIE REVIEW

Leigh: Tim, you called out the great voice cast of The Croods: A New Age and it is fantastic. They all gel together really well. The comedic timing is just perfection.

Tim: There's no one more chaotic in their physicality and their distinctive voice than Nicolas Cage. His character of Grug is just so next level. I've loved watching his character arc and how pivotal he is to the story – and just how much fun Nicolas Cage seems to be having behind the microphone. I just can't get enough of Nic Cage.

Leigh: And the animation was next level, so tight with incredible attention to detail. You can really tell that no expense was spared in making The Croods: A New Age.

Tim: Oh, definitely. I found the production design and the character design super quirky and wacky, which is a great thing that this film owns and runs with. I found it quite inventive. You've got these kind of hybrid animals… the creatures are so fun.

Leigh: Yes, I love those! Let's talk about the hybrid animals.

Tim: Okay, I've got chills because I am an arachnophobic, right. Oh my god, I can't even talk about it! But there's something weirdly cute about the spider-wolf hybrid that's in this film that made me feel really uncomfortable because I was attracted to them as cute little characters, but, no, they've got spider legs. Ahhh stay away!
